National Museum of Singapore and Fort Canning Garden

On my visit to Singapore National Museum yesterday, I witnessed many great things.
It was no wonder after entering they gave a tablet with headphones, and while observing the artifacts we have to key in the code to hear the audio visual about it. A high tech approach in high tech city. Going through the history I realized that the path to progress was not also easy one. Without any natural resources how they merged with Malaysia and later separated due to internal issues in 1965. They came up with People's plan, a plan for people for basic necessity like food, shelter and then jobs by industrialization. There were protests, revolutions but the leadership was determined and had great insight, making it what Singapore is today.

Also there are corners for film industry, living gallery, fashion, etc. As there were Indians in Singapore from last hundred years and plus, so is Bollywood's presence. A Shammi Kapoor's film was going on yesterday evening in that gallery. In the living gallery there were some items which are history here but I have them at home, making me feel how far are we from development (or comfort). It continuously made me think why are we still developing, why in my country people have to struggle to get home, why I can't buy all this richness and comfort to my parents, and many questions like that.

Couple of hours was too less to study all the history there and we were requested to leave.

Outside the museum there was a Fort Canning Garden, beautifully built around the reservoir and in middle of the city. I am in love with this perfect city of Gardens!

With the long walk along the garden, and dinner at Subway marked an end to the day!

28th Dec 12

Again, an usual day becomes unusually awesome! Oh God now I am afraid of so much happiness, that I have become used too.

It wasn't a normal morning when your roommate says a final good bye on his short trip back home. Then forcing me think and understand the thought "Unhappiness is the way to progress". By the time he comes he will find an empty room and lot of personal space ;-)

Many calls emails make a day appear hectic, but things ease out and a wonderful discussion at lunch about our current politics, democracy, a movie about ego and realization, and meeting other friends over awesome cold coffee, makes it wonderful afternoon.

On the way back home, chat over coffee with best friend; boosts your morale and make you feel high when you are not confident.

Then evening went with another friend to temple (its his birthday). Experienced a pleasant and peaceful environment and the Thoughts on the wall about Hinduism made me so emotional. Greatness of my religion was reminded. The person serving the Prasad was so down to earth that he served coffee at our place.

Dosa at the dinner, served with warmth, completes my day. I am writing this note on the way back home in bus...
It's just awesome.. Ok time to get down..
Goodnight friends :)
